We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice to further develop their skills in a fast-paced work environment.

The Job:

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals in the field of heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

You will learn how to properly maintain commercial motor vehicles according to DOT regulations and Company standards.

Under the guidance of experienced mechanics, you will gain hands-on experience and technical knowledge necessary to become a proficient Heavy Duty Mechanic.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing preventative Maintenance, including basic vehicle servicing to engine or transmission overhaul.
  • Diagnosing and repairing operational difficulties with heavy duty trucks and equipment.
  • Completing reports, work orders, ordering parts and performing other administrative duties.
  • Planning and scheduling repairs in M5 planner and procuring all parts for successful plan.
  • Assisting in the review of mechanical write-ups on equipment and coordinating repair schedule.
  • Completing other responsibilities, as requested by management.
  • Attending to service calls as needed, or emergent situations in the field.
  • Performing afternoon assigned tasks, either continuing tasks from the morning or starting new ones.
  • Cleaning up work areas.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a mechanic.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to be trained on software systems and the willingness to learn.
  • Meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
  • Use diagnostic software a plus.
  • Follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job.
  • Possess physical ability to perform all aspects of job.
