Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Birth Doula to join our team. As a Birth Doula, you will provide emotional, physical, and educational support to expectant mothers and their families throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey.
Job Summary:The Birth Doula will work closely with our Maternity Support Services team to provide comprehensive care to our clients. This includes attending prenatal meetings, providing emotional and physical support during labor, and visiting clients in their homes after birth. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to our clients.
Responsibilities:- Provide emotional and physical support to expectant mothers and their families throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey.
- Attend prenatal meetings to get to know clients and establish their birth preferences and other requirements.
- Remain with clients throughout labor and provide physical and emotional support during childbirth and in the immediate postpartum.
- Visit clients in their homes after birth to provide support and assistance with caring for their newborn.
- Provide continuous doula services that meet the DONA International Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
- Be at least 17 years of age at the commencement of service.
- Have a high school diploma or GED or agree to obtain prior to using the education award.
- Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to compile, interpret, and utilize information.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision, use good judgment, meet deadlines, and prioritize workloads.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
