Position Overview:


• Reporting directly to the Director of Infrastructure Projects & Database Systems, you will oversee a team of Middleware & UNIX Specialists dedicated to the operation and maintenance of Middleware Systems. Your role will also encompass the implementation, optimization, and support of UNIX systems, servers, and associated components to guarantee the high availability and security of critical business applications.


• Engage in the planning and execution of policies and procedures to ensure that the provisioning and maintenance of Middleware and UNIX systems align with organizational objectives, industry standards, and regulatory mandates.


• Collaborate with a diverse team of IT professionals in a dynamic work environment, offering both remote and on-site work arrangements. Note that special working conditions may be required based on project demands, including after-hours and weekend commitments.

Is This Position Suitable for You?


• Participate in capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic objectives for Middleware and UNIX systems in collaboration with end-users and IT leadership.


• Coordinate with various departments to implement UNIX and Middleware systems in accordance with industry best practices to fulfill corporate goals.


• Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for UNIX Operating Systems and related hardware components.


• Take responsibility for Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) initiatives, including the coordination of testing for managed systems.


• Oversee problem and incident resolution, ensuring that systems adhere to policies, standards, and best practices for regulatory compliance.


• Provide technical support services, monitor system performance, and manage production service level agreements effectively.


• Lead, mentor, and develop team members while conducting regular performance evaluations in alignment with the organization's values.

Required Skills:


• Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.


• Excellent interpersonal skills to foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


• A minimum of 7 years of experience in enterprise server support, maintenance, and administration.


• At least 3 years of experience in technical leadership and team management.


• Over 10 years of technical experience with IBM Power Servers, POWER9, and AIX systems administration.


• Proficient in Middleware systems, large-scale enterprise applications, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.


• A logical thinker with a strategic planning approach and a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
