If you are a wellness advocate who embraces a holistic approach to support individuals facing challenges such as addiction, trauma, and mental health issues, this role may be the perfect fit for you.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • At least 6 months of relevant experience in a supportive role.
  • Progress towards post-secondary education.
  • Knowledge and experience in harm reduction, person-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and strength-based approaches.
  • Ability to connect with individuals through personal experiences related to addiction, mental health, and socio-economic challenges.
  • Understanding of issues related to inner-city living, homelessness, and multicultural dynamics.
  • Proven skills in building and maintaining healthy relationships, along with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capability to mediate and resolve conflicts effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and exemplify wellness and self-care practices within the residential setting.
  • Plan and facilitate recreational activities that align with individual care plans.
  • Create an enjoyable and engaging atmosphere that encourages residents to explore wellness.
  • Collaborate with the housing program team to share updates on resident progress and any significant behavioral changes.
  • Maintain accurate service care plans and documentation related to residents and facility updates.
  • Assist residents with daily living tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean living environment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, safety standards, and emergency procedures.
  • Administer medications as required for program residents.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to foster a sense of community within the residence.

Base Salary: $18.47
