About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sports Facilities Coordinator to join our team at Douglas College. As a key member of our Athletics and Recreation department, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Fitness Centre, Athletics, Recreation, and Sport Science facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate facility scheduling and maintenance, ensuring the safe use of facilities and equipment.
  • Oversee the supervision of student assistants and volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement fitness programming for individuals and groups, collaborating with Sports Sciences Laboratory Technicians as required.
  • Assist with the administration of Athletics and Recreation events, including promotion, event management, and department fundraising.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by the Manager, Athletics and Recreation Operations.
Requirements
  • Completion of a degree in Sports Science and/or Human Kinetics and/or Recreation, together with two years of related work experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Experience with fitness-related programming and knowledge of safety procedures for fitness/athletic equipment.
  • Ability to critically analyze, reason, and problem-solve, with a focus on providing exceptional client-centred service.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's license or access to a reliable transportation to accommodate operational activities at all campuses.
