Job Purpose

The Azure Administrator will manage, maintain, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure services within our organization. This role involves deploying, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Azure resources to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and technical system capabilities to meet customer needs
  • Lead requirement elicitation process and design sessions for new systems or requested changes
  • Compile business requirements and process/workflows and translate into ERP solutions
  • Collaborate with internal units, external consultants, and stakeholders to design and implement solutions
  • Research, troubleshoot, and mitigate transactional and ERP project system-related issues
  • Configure functions and workflow to facilitate ERP system usage and integration with other applications
  • Perform business systems and workflow analysis and disseminate technical communications into a business context
  • Create user guides, training curriculum, and documentation for internal and external partners
  • Participate in implementation/rollout plans and maintain current knowledge of ERP and integrated applications
  • Support the continuous improvement of Business Analyst process to support organizational evolution

Azure Service Deployment and Configuration

  • Deploy and configure Azure services such as Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), Azure Functions, and Azure Active Directory (AAD)
  • Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, and resource tagging to organize and track usage and costs effectively
  • Integrate Azure Services with on-premises infrastructure and third-party systems using Azure Hybrid connections, VPN Gateway, and Azure ExpressRoute

Monitoring and Performance Optimization

  • Monitor Azure resource health, performance metrics, and usage statistics using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Application Insights
  • Set up alerts, notifications, and automated remediation actions for monitoring and managing Azure resources proactively
  • Optimize Azure resource utilization, scalability, and cost-efficiency through rightsizing, autoscaling, and reserved instance management

Protection and Disaster Recovery

  • Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for Azure virtual machines, databases, and storage using Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), and Azure File Sync
  • Configure encryption, access controls, and data retention policies to protect sensitive data and comply with regulatory requirements

Identity and Access Management

  • Manage user identities, roles, and access permissions in Azure Active Directory (AAD) using Azure AD Identity Governance, Azure AD Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Conditional Access policies
  • Implement single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and role-based access control (RBAC) for securing Azure resources and applications

Qualifications, Skills, and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified; Azure Administrator associate are required
  • Proven experience in managing and administering Azure cloud infrastructure and services, including compute, networking, storage, and security
  • Proficiency in Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, Azure Portal, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates for automating deployment and management tasks
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and routing in the context of Azure virtual networks and network security groups (NSGs)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Automation, and infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, troubleshooting abilities, and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
