POSITION TITLE: Gymnastics Instructor
DEPARTMENT: Community Engagement
NUMBER OF OPENINGS: Multiple
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-time, seasonal, temporary
WORKING HOURS: 24 flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
COMPENSATION: $19.45 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Floor Supervisor/Recreation Programmer, the Gymnastics Instructor is tasked with designing, organizing, and executing an engaging program that ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver high-quality gymnastics lessons tailored to various skill levels
- Stay updated with the latest trends and methodologies in gymnastics
- Provide exceptional customer service, welcoming and engaging participants
- Communicate effectively with participants regarding available lesson opportunities
- Maintain vigilance and readiness to address any emergency situations
- Complete necessary administrative tasks promptly (e.g., attendance records, incident reports)
- Ensure a safe and organized program environment, managing equipment properly
- Report any issues or incidents to the supervisor for appropriate action
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of departmental programs and services
- Adhere to and enforce all relevant policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 1-2 years of experience in gymnastics or related fields (e.g., cheerleading, dance) is preferred
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Minimum age of 16 years
- Demonstrated gymnastics proficiency during practical evaluations
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
- NCCP Full Foundations or Level 1 certification with Risk Management considered an asset
- High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification is advantageous
- Strong customer service and communication abilities
NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates with permanent residency in Brampton.
