About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Virtual Construction Student to join our team at PCL Construction. As a Virtual Construction Student, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience in the field of construction technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation of site plans using AutoCAD and other drafting software
  • Develop and maintain construction schedules and site layout documents
  • Work on tower crane and man/material hoist working drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections
  • Format plot styles and AutoCAD settings for desired design effects
  • Prepare job report binders for supervisors and create new work order forms
  • Become familiar with building information modeling (BIM) software, including Autodesk, NavisWorks, ArchiCAD/Constructor, Revit, 3D Studio Max, and Sketchup
  • Become familiar with scheduling programs, including Navisworks and Primavera P6 EPPM
Requirements
  • Strong desire to work in a construction environment
  • Prior field construction experience is considered an asset
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Ability to apply various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting
