Become a pivotal member of the Maple Leaf Foods team, where you will take charge of developing and sustaining the Occupational Health & Safety initiatives for the Heritage Plant. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, crafting safe operational procedures, delivering training, managing claims, and mitigating risks to establish a premier safety program. You will be instrumental in all Health & Safety functions at the Heritage Plant.
Key Responsibilities:- Formulate and execute Safe Work Procedures to identify potential hazards and risks
- Implement safety programs and policies through team discussions
- Oversee OHS metrics and documentation
- Create and conduct training programs
- Assist in minimizing health and safety risks
- Support Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews
- Supervise contractor OHS programs
- Provide accident response and assist in investigations
- Engage in emergency management activities
- Maintain software and records for all safety programs
- 3-5 years of experience in Health & Safety roles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory training
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies is advantageous
- Familiarity with WSIB claims management is beneficial
