Career Opportunity:

Become a pivotal member of the Maple Leaf Foods team, where you will take charge of developing and sustaining the Occupational Health & Safety initiatives for the Heritage Plant. Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, crafting safe operational procedures, delivering training, managing claims, and mitigating risks to establish a premier safety program. You will be instrumental in all Health & Safety functions at the Heritage Plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute Safe Work Procedures to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Implement safety programs and policies through team discussions
  • Oversee OHS metrics and documentation
  • Create and conduct training programs
  • Assist in minimizing health and safety risks
  • Support Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews
  • Supervise contractor OHS programs
  • Provide accident response and assist in investigations
  • Engage in emergency management activities
  • Maintain software and records for all safety programs
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in Health & Safety roles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory training
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory bodies is advantageous
  • Familiarity with WSIB claims management is beneficial
