This role is essential in fostering a robust clinical staff through effective hiring and onboarding processes. If you are a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with prior leadership experience, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care for seniors, we encourage you to consider this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Director of Clinical Care while overseeing the nursing team with clear lines of authority and communication.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Care and Community Manager in the recruitment, performance management, and evaluation of staff.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
- Assist the team in developing and executing comprehensive care plans tailored to residents' individual needs.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and the standards set by governing bodies (CCALA, BCCNM) and Golden Life's mission.
- Implement the RAI MDS program, focusing on outcome evaluation and performance monitoring.
- Engage with educational institutions for the placement of practicum students.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Address family and client concerns following the Positive Solutions process.
- Co-facilitate departmental meetings to enhance communication and collaboration.
- Coordinate and oversee operational activities within the department.
- Participate in strategic planning and accreditation efforts.
- Work alongside the Director of Clinical Care and the Quality & Clinical Practice Consultant to identify and address educational needs, including policy and procedure reviews.
- Be available for on-call duties as required (telephone consultation).
- Maintain current registration with BCCNM as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years of management experience, including supervision of a multidisciplinary team, budget management, and quality assurance processes.
- Bring prior experience in long-term care settings.
- Exhibit strong multitasking abilities, effective time management, and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in planning, directing, evaluating, and managing the delivery of diverse care services within a social model framework.
- Showcase excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, thriving in a team-oriented environment.
- Provide a Negative TB Screening and Immunization Records.
- Successfully complete a vulnerable sector criminal record check.
