Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Financial Analyst within the Business Services division, you will be tasked with delivering comprehensive analysis and strategic recommendations to shape business initiatives. Your contributions will be vital in the annual budgeting process, forecasting, and long-term planning, supporting various programs and the Leadership team with data-driven insights for informed decision-making. You will also oversee financial metric evaluations across critical financial statements (P&L and Balance Sheet) and provide continuous leadership and financial guidance for a designated portfolio of programs, focusing on forecasting and financial planning while identifying trends and opportunities to enhance performance across business units. Additionally, you will spearhead the evolution of financial systems and reporting tools, adapting them as the business landscape and industry evolve. Each day will present challenges that are dynamic, impactful, and fulfilling.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Collaborating with Business Services partners to pinpoint performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, while articulating recommendations to facilitate decision-making through analytics.
  • Executing month-end entries and accruals, conducting month-end variance analysis and commentaries against budget and forecasts, and scrutinizing weekly/monthly reports and reconciliations related to the Business Services department.
  • Developing financial models and conducting quantitative analyses to assess historical performance and current trends, aimed at influencing strategic decisions.
  • Engaging in financial modeling, simulations, sensitivity analyses, and testing.
  • Providing analytical support for financial forecasts and operational plans.
  • Comparing projected and actual results to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Partnering with other analytical teams across the organization to introduce new tools, data, and methodologies that yield increasingly insightful recommendations.
  • Communicating findings to senior management, summarizing complex models in an accessible manner for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Creating and delivering reports, presentations, dashboards, and business commentary for senior leadership, while striving to enhance the accuracy of financial forecasts across various business units.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Business Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • An MBA is considered advantageous.
  • Experience in modeling business cases and generating management reports.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst, or in a similar capacity, with a focus on budgeting and planning.
  • Familiarity with IFRS, particularly IFRS 15, is considered beneficial.
  • Proficiency in PowerBi is viewed as an asset.
  • Experience in retail, especially in multi-location/national and multi-channel retail environments, is advantageous.
