Addiction Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a part-time 0.5 FTE physician to join our Mental Health and Addiction Program (MHAP) at the Yarmouth Recovery Support Centre. As a member of our inter-professional clinical team, you will provide evidence-informed withdrawal management and related mental health and addiction care in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities will include assessing and managing substance use disorders, working with the clinical team to initiate and monitor withdrawal management protocols, and conducting risk assessments and interventions for suicide, self-harm, or harm to others.
Our ideal candidate will have current certification in addiction medicine through a recognized professional organization and experience working in a medical withdrawal management service. Training and mentoring opportunities are available for those with limited or no clinical experience in this setting.
