Job Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled 3D Programmer to join our team at Ubisoft Montreal. As a key member of our production team, you'll be responsible for creating stunning visual experiences for our players.

Your exceptional math skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of GPUs will enable you to write efficient code and deliver high-performance graphics. You'll work closely with technical artists to transform their requirements into working code, ensuring a seamless collaboration between disciplines.

As a passionate individual with a strong understanding of physics and lighting, you'll use your expertise to create striking visuals and push the boundaries of what's possible in game development.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop customized code for various hardware platforms
  2. Explore new hardware and tackle the challenges it presents
  3. Collaborate with artists to assess their needs and vision
  4. Optimize code for improved performance
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest academic literature in your field
  6. Participate in 3D tech talks and share your knowledge with colleagues
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  1. An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  2. A minimum of 7 years' experience in general programming, preferably in the video-game industry, with at least 5 years in graphics programming
  3. Proficiency in C++ and HLSL, with experience in DirectX
  4. Experience developing on video-game consoles and optimizing performance for consoles
  5. A strong passion for math and a creative approach to problem-solving
