Job Title: Advanced Care Paramedic

Ornge is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team. As a critical care provider, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Summary:

The Advanced Care Paramedic will be responsible for the initiation and provision of treatment, stabilization, and safe transport of critically ill and injured patients via air and land. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced life support care to patients in a variety of settings, including emergency medical services, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Operate advanced medical equipment, including ventilators, defibrillators, and cardiac monitors.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' active field practice as a paramedic.
  • MOH Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (AEMCA) certificate or eligibility for Ontario equivalency.
  • MOH Advanced Care Paramedic certificate or eligibility for Ontario equivalency.
  • Current valid F Class (or higher) Drivers License or provincial equivalent with satisfactory Driver Abstract.
  • Current valid CPR for Healthcare Professionals and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Current, valid immunizations and confirmation of freedom from communicable disease as outlined in MOH Ambulance Service Communicable Disease Standards.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Search current within 90 days.
