Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cleaner (North Nelson) to join our BGIS SCS Team. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for cleaning in a designated zone with a focus on quality control, health and safety, and exceeding client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
• Dry/wet mop (wash/scrub) and polish hard surface floors
• Strip and finish hard surface floors manually or with power equipment when required
• Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor
• Transport maintenance machinery, where necessary, between floors and job sites
• Clean and store equipment and machinery used
• Clean glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding, or other extension equipment to reach
• Clean washroom floors, including stripping and finishing
• Clean stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required
• Load and unload supplies and replenish cleaning solutions
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Other duties assigned by management

Job Requirements:

• Experience in performing various cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment
• Experience in using floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, materials, and solutions
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work, including WHMIS
• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items, as well as climb ladders
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and the general public
• Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as assigned, as well as work in multiple locations
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prepare, and maintain manual and electronic records

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation:

• Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable
• Must have a valid Class G license, where required

This is a regular, part-time position with a wage range of $16.75 - $18.00 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to experience, education, and performance related to this role.
