Job Summary

The Senior VDC Coordinator will play a key role in leading digital transformation under Virtual Design & Construction, a critical part of our Digital Project Delivery strategy. This position will involve leveraging the latest VDC technology tools to optimize construction project management, collaborating with project managers, superintendents, and engineers on-site, and developing project-specific workflows that utilize BIM data for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling, coordination, field layout, and facilities management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans and VDC implementation strategies
  • Collaborate with VDC Leadership team to build project teams and manage project coordination
  • Manage and maintain BIM data generated from various sources throughout design and construction
  • Conduct VR walkthroughs of the future built asset with clients to address design concerns
  • Work closely with design teams to develop building designs throughout various stages of design milestones and ensure compliance to Project Information Requirements and BIM standards
  • Proactively identify potential coordination issues and act as a subject matter expert for design software products & BIM related issues while maintaining best practices
  • Facilitate reality capture, utilizing LiDAR, Drones, and 360 Photography for model integration, QA/QC, analysis, and visualization
  • Teach and mentor project teams on new software and workflows
  • Participate in software testing, R&D initiatives, and continue personal and professional growth

Requirements

  • University degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, M&E or related field
  • 3-5 years of professional experience with focus on BIM Management, Modeling, and related technology
  • Experience in 3D laser scanning, 360 photography, and LiDAR would be an asset
  • Experience working with COBie data would be an asset
  • Experience with ISO 19650 standards would be an asset
  • Relevant experience in engineering and/or construction fields, including document production and M&E coordination works
  • Advanced experience in Revit, including interoperability tools, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is required
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud is considered an asset
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and/or Bluebeam
  • High level of knowledge interpreting design and construction drawings
  • Passionate about the construction industry and innovation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent organization, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • BIM-related training or certifications considered an asset (Building Transformations, BuildingSMART)
  • RPAS (Drone) operator Certification (Or the ability to achieve) to operate drones on our project sites. Experience with drone deploy would be an asset.
