About the Role

The District of North Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Section Manager, Transportation. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to join our team and contribute to the development and implementation of transportation strategies and policies that support the District's Official Community Plan goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and deliver District transportation initiatives, leading a team of technical and professional staff in the planning, development, design, and implementation of transportation strategies, policies, and plans.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership while overseeing planning, feasibility, public engagement, policy, and design development of transportation initiatives of local, neighbourhood, and regional significance.
  • Lead a team of technical and professional staff in the planning, development, design, and implementation of transportation strategies, policies, and plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize transportation needs and develop solutions that meet the needs of the community.
  • Develop and implement transportation policies and plans that support the District's Official Community Plan goals.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, plus a minimum of seven years' progressive experience in transportation and mobility planning and design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including community members, elected officials, and other government agencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and statistics and make informed decisions.
  • Valid Driver's Licence.
