Position Overview:

We are currently seeking Red Seal Certified Plumbers and Gas Fitters to become integral members of our ATCO Facilities Solutions division, focusing on various projects in the Edmonton region.

The role of the Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter encompasses responsibilities such as preventive and corrective maintenance, thorough inspections, modifications, and the installation or dismantling of plumbing systems. Candidates must be flexible to work during evenings and weekends as necessary. Essential tools, uniforms, personal protective equipment, a work cellphone, and a company vehicle will be provided for all job-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform timely inspections, testing, and precise documentation of equipment issues and deficiencies.
  • Replace plumbing fixtures including toilets, sinks, and bathtubs.
  • Operate power augers for clearing blockages in toilets, bathtubs, and main lines.
  • Provide insights for planned maintenance and assist in adhering to scheduled commitments.
  • Participate in the scoping, estimating, planning, and execution of new projects.
  • Replace hot water tanks and furnaces as required.
  • Occasionally install tiles around sinks and bathtubs.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance work are correctly sized, aligned, supported, and graded.
  • Confirm that all work meets the relevant codes and environmental protection standards.
  • Supervisory duties may be assigned based on operational needs and customer requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Journeyman Plumber Certificate and Red Seal with a minimum of years' experience.
  • Class B Gas Fitter License is mandatory.
  • A valid Class license and a clean driving record are essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and a strong commitment to safety for oneself and others.
