About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority has a temporary appointment position in diagnostic radiology at the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater. This is a 3-month position with the potential for extension to 6 months or longer. The successful candidate will join a team of 5 radiologists to provide diagnostic imaging services to the hospital and surrounding facilities, including call coverage.

South Shore Regional Hospital is a primary and secondary care hospital and designated district trauma centre. The hospital has 85 inpatient beds, including medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetrics, and mental health units. The hospital is a modern regional facility that serves the residents and surrounding community members of Bridgewater.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic imaging services, including CT, ultrasound, x-ray, mammography, and nuclear medicine
  • Various image-guided procedures
  • Physician will be responsible to the Zone Department of Radiology for professional responsibilities and quality of practice, as well as operating within the medical staff bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • Provide hospital and call support as required
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned

  • On-call requirement
Qualifications
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • Certification with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
  • Eligible for certification by the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada
