At the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, we're seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Supply Assistant to join our team of early childhood educators. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that fosters healthy, strong, and connected communities for children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care to children, including toileting, first aid, and medication administration
  • Engage with children and ensure their safety and supervision in a group setting
  • Plan and implement play-based learning in accordance with the YMCA Curriculum
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and volunteers
  • Provide an inclusive environment that supports children with exceptional behaviors and additional needs
  • Adhere to work schedules and provide adequate notice for unexpected changes
  • Demonstrate flexibility with routines and schedules
Requirements:
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Up-to-date immunizations
  • Availability requirements: minimum of 2 full days per week or 3 afternoons
  • Passion for working with children and providing quality play-based learning
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg, and participate in physical activities
