About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at S&A Drywall. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our drywall installations meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing: Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Measurement and Cutting: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to meet project specifications.
  • Joint Compound Application: Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Taping and Embedding: Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless finish.
  • Estimation and Planning: Estimate costs and materials required for each project, and plan installation schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying locations. You will be exposed to dusty and noisy conditions, and will be required to work outdoors. You will also be handling heavy loads and working under pressure to meet project deadlines.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation, or equivalent experience.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in physically demanding conditions.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
