About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team at SUMAIR DRYWALL LTD. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound, guaranteeing a strong bond.
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces, protecting against the elements.
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools, to create a sturdy structure.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Taper, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment, often in dusty and noisy conditions. You will be required to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade.
  • Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Strong client focus, flexibility, reliability, and teamwork skills.
