Job Title: Harness Apprentice

Job Summary:

MDA Space is seeking a skilled Harness Apprentice to join our Satellite Systems team in Montreal. As a Harness Apprentice, you will be responsible for training and learning the trade, as well as developing technical skills in harness assembly and production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Crimp contacts and perform wire pull tests.
• Terminate connectors (D-Sub/HD).
• Prepare cables and wires.
• Make harnesses.
• Mechanically assemble connectors and backshells.
• Tin components.
• Prepare, handle, and use polymer products for bonding components.
• Any other related duties.

Requirements:

• Reading of drawings.
• Knowledge of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
• Ability to retrieve and enter computer data using a computer system.
• Use of production databases.
• Good knowledge of French.
• Fine manual dexterity.
• Education: Asset - Secondary school vocational diploma in a relevant field.
• Experience: None to two (2) years of experience required.
• Linguistic Level: Good knowledge of French. Basic knowledge of English is an asset.

Security Clearance: Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
