As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering excellent patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and compassion.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Comprehensive Nursing Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of our residents.
- Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team: Work closely with our healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and other caregivers, to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
- Ensure Resident Safety and Well-being: Implement protocols to prevent accidents, ensure timely and safe resident transfers and discharges, and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Manage Medications and Supplies: Ensure the safe and efficient management of medications, narcotics, and other supplies, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Document Resident Information: Accurately and thoroughly document resident information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Education and Certification: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent, current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, and current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical records and other relevant software.
- Medical Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and other relevant legislation and regulations.
- Clearances and Certifications: Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate, Vulnerable Sector Police Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
