In alignment with the established vision and values of our organization, the Respiratory Therapist operates in accordance with the professional standards set forth by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and within a client-centered care framework.

Provides continuous respiratory care in a collaborative setting to patients with various health conditions, including acute and chronic respiratory diseases, by functioning both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Enhances the quality of life from the perspective of patients and their families. Engages in consultation, collaboration, and communication with other healthcare professionals. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices in respiratory care. Maintains and enhances personal clinical competencies. Participates in committees, teams, and approved research initiatives as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift - 08:30 to 16:30

New Compensation Rate :
The updated wage is: $47.31/hour

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and eligibility for registration with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) and CSRT.
  • Valid BC Driver's License as required for the specific practice area.

Proven ability to conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate technical and therapeutic interventions.



Education:
Ability to instruct patients and others in both individual and group settings.

Knowledge Application:
Integrates best practices and current research to inform professional practice decisions and actions.

Communication:

Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, the public, medical staff, and interdisciplinary team members through verbal, written, and digital means. Demonstrates effective conflict resolution skills.



Critical Thinking:
Proven ability to analyze and evaluate relevant data from multiple sources to solve problems and make informed decisions. Applies critical thinking and decision-making skills using a systematic approach.
