Providence Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Leader to join our team at St. Vincent's Langara Long-Term Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating resident care activities, supervising staff, and providing clinical guidance to nursing staff and students.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate day-to-day resident care activities, including supervising staff, monitoring resident acuity, and adjusting staffing levels as needed.
- Act as a clinical resource to nursing staff, students, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, providing guidance on clinical practice issues and troubleshooting concerns.
- Participate in rounds/clinics, collaborating with nursing staff to assess resident problems and needs, plan and prioritize nursing interventions, and implement and evaluate interventions.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to determine needs for consultation with physicians, nurse consultants, and other disciplines or departments, and arrange for consultation when required.
- Act as a resident and family advocate, communicating concerns to other members of the resident care team and intervening as needed.
- Perform direct nursing care by assuming responsibility for a patient/resident assignment.
- Provide input into the development, evaluation, and delivery of orientation, and make recommendations regarding changes or new initiatives.
- Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant, with qualifications required of staff nurse in clinical area.
- Three years of recent related experience in long-term care, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to supervise, communicate effectively, and apply decision-making and analytical skills.
- Ability to deal with and promote change, role model conflict resolution strategies, and match skills of staff with clinical needs.
