Job Overview

Operations Manager – Surgery Program

Permanent Full-Time Position

Reporting directly to the Clinical Program Director for Surgical Services, the Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing all operational facets of Perioperative Services. This includes managing materials, supplies, data collection, monitoring, and analysis of operational efficiency metrics, as well as addressing vendor-related concerns. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with surgeons and clinical divisions to ensure alignment with Quality Based Procedure (QBP) funding allocations and to identify additional revenue opportunities. A proactive approach, coupled with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, is essential for addressing departmental needs effectively.

Key Qualifications

A completed University degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance) from an accredited institution; an MBA is preferred. 3-5 years of experience in the healthcare sector. At least three (3) years of recent experience demonstrating proficiency in financial management and inventory oversight within a healthcare environment.

Additional Skills and Attributes

Consideration will be given to applicants with equivalent recent training and experience; PMAC designation is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and supply management information systems; familiarity with SAP is advantageous. Experience in analyzing financial performance and developing business cases to drive organizational change. Proven project management capabilities with the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate various initiatives. Familiarity with Lean principles and a continuous improvement mindset to enhance healthcare delivery. Strong financial planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent research and organizational skills, capable of managing competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate requirements, priorities, impacts, and solutions. Strong networking and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders to promote ongoing process improvement and achieve performance targets. Flexibility and self-direction, with the ability to manage competing priorities during periods of rapid change. A high level of accountability, with a proven ability to identify opportunities, take initiative, and consider future implications. A record of satisfactory work performance and attendance.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience is preferred. Experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
