About the Role:

The Power Engineer is a key member of the RSC team, responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of the Ammonia/Glycol refrigeration plant and other critical systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems, including the Ammonia/Glycol plant, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Monitor and maintain life safety systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and emergency lighting.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and human comfort systems, including RTUs, unit heaters, and lighting.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on building-related mechanical equipment, including dock plates, overhead doors, and pumps.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to Sobeys 5S Standards.
  • Complete daily logs and preventative maintenance schedules as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate and License valid in Province of employment.
  • Minimum of three years Power Engineering experience, with an emphasis on large ammonia/glycol refrigeration systems.
  • Knowledge and direct working experience in various building systems, including boilers, compressors, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, instructions, and control sequences with a clear understanding of local codes, regulations, and bylaws.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.
