About the Role
EDF Renewables North America is a leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience in delivering grid-scale power, distribution-scale power, asset optimization, and onsite solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee day-to-day accounting entries and reconciling adjustments, ensuring timely and accurate completion in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Complete supporting schedules and related analysis of workpapers, ensuring relevant account reconciliations and job cost reports are completed timely and accurately.
- Perform detailed review and research relative to required deliverables, ensuring accuracy within specified materiality limits. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and annual IFRS audit, including disclosures, ensuring they are in accordance with applicable reporting guidance.
- Serve as a workflow and technical mentor to accountants, providing support as needed.
- Interface with other departments and business personnel regularly to ensure efficient and accurate reflection of business transactions in the ledgers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor or designee.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, either in-progress or designated, OR legacy Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified General Accountant designation (CGA).
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working within an accounting department, preferably in public practice or a mid-tier or Big 4 CA/CPA firm.
- High level proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
- Previous experience successfully handling multiple projects simultaneously.

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage time and work under tight deadlines.
Work Environment
Three days of the week will be working in-person in the Calgary downtown core. The remainder of the work week will be remote or in the office at the employee's discretion.
