About the Role:

Vallen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing customer and purchasing support, inventory control, and contract compliance activities through subordinates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate purchasing, customer services, vendor relationships, and warehousing activities in accordance with established policies and principles.
  • Confer with customers to enhance and further implement the program, evaluating areas for improvement and expanded services.
  • Develop knowledge of customer business and plant operations to communicate pertinent information to customers and implement enhancements as needed.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and prepare monthly reports for internal use and the customer on various topics such as cost, sales, performance, service, quality, and improvements.
  • Participate in value-added and cost savings ideas to provide information to customers.
  • Ensure cost savings ideas are generated, documented, and submitted to customers for approval through the e-Crib Cost Savings Ideas database.
  • Ensure cost savings meets or exceeds customer's annual contractual requirements.
  • Identify issues and potential solutions, suggesting program improvements.
  • Responsible for human resource management at the site.
  • Train customers and employees on systems.
  • Resolve customer payment and billing issues.
  • Coordinate technical support and value-added activities.
  • Coordinate vendor information sharing activities with customers, including new product launches, value-added services, and cost savings initiatives.
  • Record and research customer issues, providing corrective action solutions.
  • Create and maintain accurate inventory item databases, conducting physical inventories and cycle count requirements.
  • Read, understand, and follow Vallen's health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations.
  • Actively participate in Vallen's health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections.
  • Identify, control, and report workplace hazards, following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses.
  • Report workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return-to-work programs or requirements.
  • Be fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasks.

Requirements:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent required
  • University or College Diploma preferred – Business Related Field would be an asset
  • Inventory/Warehouse Management, 4-7 years of experience preferred
  • Combination of formal education and experience is desired for the effective management of a site
  • Entrepreneurial style of management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines without exception
  • Ability to understand complex problems, the options available, and to pursue the best possible solution with confidence
  • Ability to analyze data and tooling requirements and improvements
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret most documents and drawings
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and others
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload in a very fast-paced environment.
