As a Consulting Manager, you will cultivate and sustain relationships with designated clients. You will oversee the daily operations of a consulting delivery practice, ensuring the development of necessary resources to achieve the business goals of multiple concurrent projects. Your role will involve strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of methods and initiatives to drive results. You will enhance revenue through meticulous planning, negotiation, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes and supervises team objectives and the acquisition and development of resources to fulfill those objectives.
- Communicates clear responsibilities, accountabilities, and career pathways to staff through effective management of work assignments, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensures adherence to established policies and procedures, including skills inventory, methodologies, quality assurance, and time submission processes.
- Formulates and executes business plans tailored to the practice.
- Provides precise revenue forecasts on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, monitoring revenue and expenses to meet or exceed targets.
- Guarantees the delivery of multiple high-quality consulting engagements, resulting in elevated levels of customer satisfaction. Responsible for managing client expectations and addressing client issues. May act as Program Manager for multiple active projects.
- Exhibits leadership in service delivery as perceived by the customer.
- Manages client expectations effectively.
- Builds and nurtures customer relationships at the delivery level, ensuring proactive problem resolution during consulting engagements and actively promoting the value of services throughout the customer engagement cycle.
- Participates in Client Steering Committee meetings, representing Services Delivery.
- Oversees consulting agreements, ensuring that consultants adhere to timelines and budget constraints.
- Accountable for the financial performance of the client portfolio, including Project Revenue, Profit, and Project Recovery. Regularly provides status reports at the project and client account levels for management.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date forecasts for assigned customers.
- Identifies opportunities for organic growth within accounts and collaborates with the business enablement team.
- Works closely with Sales and Pre-sales to ensure customer requirements are met through accurate estimating and implementation planning.
- Collaborates with the Resource Manager to optimize resource utilization across all projects and assists in the development and deployment of partner resources.
- Engages with Alliances to identify partner delivery opportunities and implementation requirements, monitoring partner delivery performance and recommending enhancements.
- Actively participates in regular planning and review meetings with the Director of Consulting Services.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of training and mentoring programs for staff, providing regular performance reviews and communicating overall team performance.
- Extensive experience in senior consulting management – 8 years (managing mid to large-scale multiple concurrent projects).
- Proven mentoring capabilities at both the consultant and project manager levels.
- Experience in the retail industry is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated skills in team building, organization, and planning.
- Strong customer relationship management and communication skills, bridging technology and business.
- Ability to effectively convey consulting value propositions to customers at all organizational levels.
- University Degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in negotiation and facilitation across various corporate functions.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
- Persuasive ability to ensure internal changes are accepted and implemented effectively.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required.
