Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing services to patients, including independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Assess patients' health needs, develop individualized care plans, and implement interventions to achieve health goals.
  • Delegate tasks to other healthcare team members, monitor and evaluate delegated activities, and participate in the coordination of care between team members.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team activities, such as rounds, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Recognize and report situations, occurrences, problems, or concerns in a timely fashion, following appropriate communication channels.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing education program.
  • Recent, related experience in the applicable clinical area may be required or preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written) required.
  • Ability to work in a computerized environment and function in the MDS and Care Organizer programs.
  • Ability to prioritize care for an individual resident or group of residents, respond to a variety of simultaneous demands, and maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.
Working Conditions

Good physical and mental health. Moderate to heavy physical effort required. Good communication skills are essential.
