Mobile Lab Patient Technician - Regular Part Time

LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is in search of a diligent and patient-focused individual to fill the role of Mobile Lab Patient Technician.

As a Mobile Lab Patient Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing on-site patient care at various locations, including private residences, commercial establishments, retirement communities, and long-term care facilities. This dynamic and fulfilling position allows you to foster relationships with patients and witness the positive impact you have on their healthcare experiences.

This position is part-time, with the successful candidate working within mobile service teams to assist with visits to various facilities and private homes. Current operational hours are from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Shifts may vary within these time frames, including on-call responsibilities.

Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  1. Coordinating a daily itinerary of visits to facilities and private homes to collect specimens as per physician requests, optimizing your route based on courier schedules, specimen integrity, and necessary travel time.
  2. Executing phlebotomies, connecting and disconnecting Holter monitors, and conducting ECG tracings.
  3. Transporting specimens to designated laboratories for analysis.
  4. Accessioning, spinning, separating, and preparing specimens for transport to reference labs as needed.
  5. Scheduling patient appointments, gathering required information from patients, explaining the specimen collection process, and ensuring adherence to necessary testing protocols prior to specimen collection.
  6. Communicating with physicians, facility personnel, and community care staff regarding patient concerns, scheduling changes, specimen collection procedures, and other relevant matters.

Covid-19 vaccinations and a booster shot are mandatory for this position.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation range has been established, but the final salary will be determined based on experience, educational qualifications, market conditions, and internal equity.
