Your Opportunity:

The Nurse Practitioner in the Airdrie Urgent Care Centre will function as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team, demonstrating a range of theoretical, practical and research based therapeutic practices. Reporting to the Manager, the NP will work autonomously to perform extended health services that include restricted activities as per the standards and values of the Nurse Practitioner role, providing care within their full scope of practice as defined by Schedule 24 of the Health Professions Act and CRNA. Within the Urgent Care setting these responsibilities will include:Complete assessments of patients presenting to the Urgent Care department. Order, interpret and perform diagnostic tests / procedures / laboratory investigations within the NP scope of practice. Pharmacological and non- pharmacological treatment intervention within the NP scope of practice. Request consultation from and collaborate with other health care professionals / specialistsDevelop a plan of care appropriate for individuals presenting to the Urgent Care department. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with family physicians and other team members to provide coordinated care.

Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree. Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Master of Nursing Degree required.Active registration with CRNA Primary Care; All ages Extended Practice Roster. Certified for community-based practice. Current Heart and Stroke BLS and ACLS certification required.Demonstrates clinical competence in physical examination.Demonstrates clinical competence in ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as x-ray, ECG and laboratory investigations. Demonstrated leadership in policy development.Demonstrated strengths in prioritization and adapting to fluctuating workload.Strong communication and leadership skills.
