Oncology Radiation Therapist

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Radiation Therapist delivers essential radiation services and patient care in alignment with established protocols and professional standards within the field of radiation therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and review medical histories.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding the treatment process and potential side effects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Design and implement radiation treatment plans while ensuring precise dose calculations.
  • Fabricate immobilization devices and beam directing apparatus.
  • Accurately position and mark patients to optimize treatment delivery.
  • Perform routine quality assurance checks on radiation therapy equipment.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Radiation Therapy or an equivalent certification.
  • Certification from CAMRT.
  • Recent completion of a Radiation Therapy training program or current employment in the field.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Physical aptitude to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities efficiently.
  • Operational proficiency with relevant equipment.
  • Current CPR certification.
