Position Overview

The role of a Light Duty Cleaner is essential in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within a healthcare setting. This position involves various cleaning tasks that ensure the facility remains welcoming and safe for both patients and staff.

Education Requirements
  • No formal education required, such as a degree, certificate, or diploma.
Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a hospital, medical facility, or clinic, where cleanliness is paramount.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain cleanliness.
  • Dust and clean furniture to provide a tidy appearance.
  • Vacuum carpets, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
  • Make beds and change sheets to ensure comfort for patients.
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries as needed.
  • Stock the linen closet to ensure availability of supplies.
  • Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
  • Disinfect operating rooms and other critical areas to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Handle and report lost and found items responsibly.
  • Attend to guests' requests for additional supplies or information.
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers regularly.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties as required.
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to uphold facility standards.
  • Clean changing rooms and showers to ensure a sanitary environment.
Physical Requirements

Candidates should be prepared for a variety of physical tasks, including:

  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • A combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
Experience

While previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset, it is not mandatory.
