About the Role

Athabasca University's Research Office is seeking a highly skilled Research Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our research community, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our research activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to researchers on research security best practices, risk management, and compliance.
  • Build institutional capacity for research security by developing training programs, workshops, and other educational resources.
  • Collaborate with researchers, faculty, and staff to identify and mitigate research security risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, research partners, and industry experts.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging research security trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as research administration, security studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in research security, compliance, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in research security best practices, risk management, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
