Role Overview

Reporting to the Property Manager, the Facility Maintenance Attendant will be tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of various properties. Responsibilities will encompass routine cleaning duties, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. This role is customer-facing, necessitating a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors, hallways, and communal areas in multiple buildings, both inside and outside.
  • Manage waste disposal by collecting and emptying trash bins while adhering to waste management protocols. Replace trash can liners as necessary.
  • Clean surfaces such as desks, tables, countertops, windowsills, and door handles to maintain a tidy appearance and minimize the spread of germs.
  • Follow floor care procedures, including sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors. Address spills, stains, or other potential hazards promptly.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring vacuums, mops, and dusters are clean and in good working condition. Ensure building security by properly locking doors and windows after completing cleaning tasks. Report any suspicious activities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with the building manager to communicate maintenance or repair needs, safety concerns, or other building-related issues.
  • Organize and prioritize cleaning tasks effectively to ensure timely completion across all assigned properties.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 education.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role involving residential or commercial cleaning is preferred.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to promptly address cleanliness issues, spills, and other potential hazards.
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods, including the ability to lift and move objects over 30 pounds.
  • Dependable and punctual, with the ability to adhere to assigned work schedules.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a positive team player.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with residents, visitors, and colleagues.
