Blockchain-Focused Threat Intelligence Engineer

Position OverviewChainPatrol Inc. is seeking a dedicated Threat Intelligence Software Engineer with a strong emphasis on blockchain technology. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of the cryptocurrency landscape and a passion for developing solutions that protect Web3 enterprises from persistent online threats.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate on-chain transactions linked to malicious wallets and wallet drainers.
- Identify and mitigate wallet draining scripts in Web3 interfaces.
- Simulate wallet interactions with phishing websites to analyze attack behaviors.
- Extract and label addresses associated with phishing activities for further tracing.
- Develop and enhance our primary application, Discord Bot, API, and Typescript SDK.
- Engage in routine code reviews on GitHub, ensuring high standards of code quality.
- Collaborate with leadership and fellow engineers to define project scopes and act as a project manager for key initiatives.
- Work alongside co-founders to conduct strategic experiments aimed at identifying product-market fit and growth avenues.
- Create documentation, tests, and tools to enhance the developer experience as necessary.
To illustrate the type of work expected, here are some example projects:
- Develop a simulator to connect to phishing domains from our database, mimicking a connection to gather evidence and extract any involved on-chain addresses.
- Trace the flow of funds from phishing sites, uncover additional contracts and addresses used in the attack, and create visual representations to aid in the tracing process.
- Proven experience in on-chain tracing, recovery of lost funds, or auditing is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with technologies such as:
- Vercel
- TRPC
- Chakra UI
- React Query
- MySQL/Vitess
- Prisma
- Experience working on production-level codebases.
- Background in building and maintaining public REST APIs is advantageous.
- UI/UX design skills and knowledge of design systems are beneficial.
- Experience in technical writing, Developer Relations, or other non-technical skills is a plus.
- Prior experience in a startup environment is favorable.
