Position Overview

The Mon Sheong Foundation seeks a skilled Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to report to the Chief Financial Officer. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading all areas of financial planning, forecasting, analysis, procurement, and cash management. The role requires the ability to manage a team to ensure adherence to Canadian GAAP, Accounting and Organization Policy & Procedures, and timely and accurate completion of statutory and management reports.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, providing consultation and guidelines to budget owners on budget dynamics and organizational changes.
  2. Prepare financial reports to support the organization's goals and integrate the financial impact of selected strategies into models.
  3. Develop monthly and quarterly forecast reports and review Ministry funding situations to optimize resource utilization.
  4. Identify areas for improvement to drive performance and business results.
  5. Collaborate with department managers to support overall organization goals and objectives.
  6. Provide training, coaching, support, and guidance to accounting staff, handle personnel issues, and work with direct reports to establish goals and performance objectives.
  7. Support the Chief Financial Officer with special projects and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
  2. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  3. 5 years of related experience in not-for-profit environments with in-depth knowledge of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  4. Strong organizational and leadership skills, attention to detail, and openness to new ideas and procedures.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.

  1. Articulate and self-driven individual with high standards of accuracy and precision.
  2. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business and financial reports.
  3. A high level of commitment to customer service towards internal and external customers.
  4. Experience with MS Office software and Sage Accpac accounting software.
