Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Steel Yard Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for various tasks related to the loading, unloading, and organization of steel materials within our facility.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently load and unload trucks in both shipping and receiving areas.
  • Utilize overhead cranes to safely handle steel products and maintain a well-organized yard.
  • Assist machine operators, fitters, and welders by locating required steel pieces promptly.
  • Contribute to a clean and safe work environment by regularly picking up debris and maintaining order.
  • Adapt to various weather conditions and perform duties as needed in the steel shop.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Possession of CSA-approved steel toe boots is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in a structural steel fabrication shop is highly advantageous.
  • Opportunity for career advancement to roles such as Welder, Fitter, and Machine Operator.
