Role Overview:

The VP, Strategic Initiatives & Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic initiatives of Purpose Unlimited, working closely with the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This role is designed for a dynamic and strategic leader who excels in operational execution, organizational strategy, and executive support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Execution:
  • Execute corporate strategies, ensuring alignment with the company's mission, vision, and long-term goals.
  • Oversee the OKR process, including the development, tracking, and reporting of OKRs across the organization.
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions, helping to translate the CEO's vision into actionable plans.
  • Ensure that strategic initiatives are prioritized, resources are allocated effectively, and execution is monitored for success.
Chief of Staff Duties:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, providing insights, recommendations, and support on key strategic decisions.
  • Act as a liaison between the CEO and senior leadership, ensuring effective communication and alignment across the organization.
  • Manage the CEO's priorities, ensuring that time and resources are focused on the most critical strategic initiatives.
Program Management: Resource Allocation & Prioritization:
  • Develop and manage processes for effective resource allocation, ensuring that the company's resources are deployed in alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Lead Purpose's cross-functional team prioritization model, working across the organization to organize core project priorities, teams, and resource allocation, ensuring that milestones are met and objectives are achieved.
  • Lead program increment planning sessions, ensuring collaboration and alignment across teams. Evaluate and adjust priorities as needed, in response to changing business conditions or new opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and escalate impediments, manage risks, and deploy solutions to ensure continuous delivery of value.
  • Drive relentless improvement by evaluating program performance and implementing process enhancements.
Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive organizational change and foster a culture of accountability and execution.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, ensuring that they have the tools and support needed to succeed.
  • Foster strong relationships across the organization, promoting collaboration and alignment on strategic goals.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
  • Develop and implement metrics and reporting systems to monitor the progress of strategic initiatives and OKRs.
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO and the SLT on the status of key initiatives, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for program communications, conveying progress, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or a senior operational role, with a focus on strategy execution.
  • Experience working directly with C-suite executives, particularly in a Chief of Staff or similar capacity.
  • Proven track record of leading and executing large-scale strategic initiatives in a complex organizational environment.
Skills:
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen understanding of business dynamics in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of organizational and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in using data and analytics to drive decision-making and monitor performance.
  • Strong understanding of Lean and Agile practices.
  • Certification in Project Management or Agile methodologies is a plus.
