About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Canfor as a Maintenance/Certified Millwright. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and modification of all sawmill-related equipment to safely maximize uptime, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure our systems run smoothly
  • Inspect machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • Manage time effectively by assessing situations and determining the best course of action
  • Apply knowledge, skills, and experience to troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability, and implement safe, reliable fixes
  • Identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors on site

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certification is considered an asset but not required
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • High degree of urgency
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers
  • Knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process is an asset, as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability
