About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician to join our team at Ideal Logistics Group Inc. as a key member of our maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect heavy-duty equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, ensuring timely and efficient repairs.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation, providing valuable insights for future maintenance and repair.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance, ensuring that work meets manufacturers' specifications and industry standards.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to prevent equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks, including service attachments and working tools.
  • Verify and repair emission control systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other routine maintenance tasks as required, including brake system maintenance.
Requirements
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Diesel engine repair specialization, including fuel injection system, exhaust system, cooling system, lubrication system, and engine control system.
  • Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization, including brake system.
  • Physically demanding work environment, requiring attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, sound discrimination, and standing for extended periods.
  • Dependability, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and organized work habits.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in heavy-duty equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Support for newcomers and refugees, including foreign credential recognition.
  • Support for Indigenous people, including cultural competency training and awareness training.
