Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist to provide expert maintenance services to our plant, ensuring efficient departmental downtime and adherence to quality, safety, and legislative guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections, including monitoring refrigeration plant, hot water systems, and waste water plant, while adhering to food safety and safety guidelines.
  • Call support companies as required.
  • Assist and support maintenance attendants and mechanics with troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime and costs.
  • Support production and sanitation as needed.
  • Respond to breakdown calls, assess, and repair equipment to limit plant/machine downtime.
  • Ensure secondary production equipment is maintained according to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Report defects, errors in production, and machinery issues to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Complete daily work sheets, preventative maintenance logs, and finalize work orders as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and a tidy safe work area.
  • Perform building repairs with high concentration and alertness.
  • Have a full understanding of JSA's, SOP's, and HACCP, BRC, or other food safety compliances.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Education.
  • 4th class power engineering certificate.
  • Post-secondary education and training, preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Good communication skills with Team Members, Supervisors, Managers, and all plant employees.
