Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hand to join our team at COMAIRCO EQUIPMENT LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and providing technical guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Training: Identify training needs for technicians and work with the Service Supervisor to develop and deploy training programs.
  • Safety Program: Identify safety training needs and expand on our current safety program to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a positive team environment and lead by example to promote a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Technical Issues: Provide technical support and guidance to technicians to resolve complex technical issues and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Rework Assessment: Track and analyze rework issues to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Service Meetings: Lead service meetings to discuss best practices, lessons learned, and rework issues.
  • Major Accounts Maintenance: Work with the Aftermarket Manager to ensure we are meeting expectations on major accounts.
  • Support Service Supervisor: Provide technical support and guidance to the Service Supervisor as needed.
  • Technician Management: Manage the team, including disciplinary actions and reward programs.
  • Business Development: Grow the branch and its revenue stream by identifying opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and business development.
  • Compressed Air Sales and Service: Promote COMAIRCO EQUIPMENT LTD.'s sales, service, and parts to customers.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that tools, clothing, and company vehicles are properly maintained and used in an appropriate and respectful manner.
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer service calls requiring a higher level of expertise.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in a management role, preferably in a compressed air or mechanical background.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, leadership skills, and ability to train and develop technicians.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
