Position Overview

As a Patient Care Assistant at Qualicare Scarborough, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of our patients. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring comfort and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Monitoring: Regularly check and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Personal Care: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming to maintain their dignity and hygiene.
  • Meal Assistance: Serve meal trays and provide feeding assistance as necessary.
  • Room Maintenance: Ensure that patients' rooms are clean and organized, including making beds.
  • Exercise Supervision: Oversee and support patients during their exercise routines.
  • Supply Management: Maintain an inventory of medical and personal care supplies.
  • Transportation: Safely transport patients between care facilities using wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Emergency Response: Administer first aid when required in emergency situations.
  • Communication: Respond to call signals promptly to address patients' needs.
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 months of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Work Hours: Full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is necessary.
