Position Overview – Water Damage Restoration Labourer

At On Side Restoration, our Labourers play a crucial role in the process of rebuilding and revitalizing both residential and commercial properties affected by water damage. These dedicated individuals are the backbone of our restoration teams. Eager to learn and driven by ambition, our Labourers view this position as a vital step towards a successful career.

Experiencing water damage can be one of the most distressing situations for our clients. Our Water Damage Technicians (WDTs) respond to emergencies caused by burst pipes, blocked drains, sewer backups, and other water-related crises.

Working closely with the Water Damage Technicians, this role serves as an essential foundation for advancing to a Technician position.

Required Qualifications...

Successful Labourers bring a diverse skill set to their roles, including:

  • Physical fitness— as water damage tasks may involve heavy lifting and navigating confined spaces
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Mechanical understanding— the ability to assess and comprehend how various systems operate
  • Interest in demolition and emergency response
  • Capability to utilize technology for documentation purposes
  • A curious mindset, always eager to learn how things function
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
  • A commitment to safety practices
  • A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and a clear criminal background (verification will occur)
  • Proficiency in English communication

Additional Skills That May Enhance Your Success:

  • Experience in construction, especially in demolition
  • WHMIS certification
  • First Aid training

As emergencies can arise at any time, a rotating schedule for 24/7 on-call work is a requirement.
