About the Role:
In the capacity of an Accounting Associate, you will assist the finance department by executing a range of accounting and finance responsibilities to ensure precise financial reporting and analysis. You will also contribute to the preparation of financial reports and the examination of financial data. The selected candidate will work in a hybrid environment, balancing remote work with in-office responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting:
- Generate invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Process payments and maintain account reconciliations.
- Follow up on overdue payments and manage collections.
- Review and process vendor invoices for payment.
- Maintain accounts payable records and reconcile statements.
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all financial information with accounting principles and relevant regulations.
- Conduct month-end entries and allocations, including general ledger reconciliations and journal entry bookings.
- Perform financial reconciliations, finalizing monthly entries and reconciling balance sheet and bank accounts.
- Identify financial trends, opportunities, and potential risks to enable informed decision-making for improved divisional performance.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support the completion of audit engagements and compliance requirements.
- Assist with tax and annual filing.
- Aid senior analysts and the controller in preparing financial forecasts and budgets.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives as assigned by the controller.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in an accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Excel is an asset.
- Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Proficiency in both written and verbal English is essential.
