Job Title: Education Department Team Lead

Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc. is a nonprofit, community-based organization that provides Indigenous-led human services. We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Education Department.

Job Summary

We are looking for a visionary leader to oversee our educational programs, including Social Innovation and Community Development, and Honouring Gifts. The successful candidate will lead a team of passionate educators, guiding them in designing and implementing innovative educational and cultural experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and support to a team of educators, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Train and onboard new staff, providing coaching support and managing performance and goals.
  • Responsible for student recruitment, orientation, and providing student resources.
  • Implement programming that is relevant and inclusive, serving student interests and needs.
  • Lead the design and delivery of training and professional development programs for educators.
  • Assist with course management, collaborating with the Education team and the accreditation body.
  • Oversee program budgets and cash flows, ensuring program review, monitoring, and evaluations.
  • Conduct annual evaluations to assess performance and set goals for professional development.
  • Prepare reports as required by program and funder guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable on community resources, with the ability to provide one-on-one wraparound support for students.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on outcomes and impact.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
